Teachers’ art exhibit reception Friday

Exhibitors in the “Teachers as Artists” will host a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Global Bean, in Silverdale.

This exhibit features original art work created by WAEA ESD 114 art educators from Central Kitsap School District and North Kitsap School District.The exhibit consists of original artworks featuring various genres inspired by historical and modern Asian and European art.

Nature, the environment, life experiences, design, culture, music, sound, and the study of the human and animal forms are themes in the show. The art show is stylistically diverse featuring realism and contemporary abstract concepts using traditional media, mixed-media, natural and organic materials.

The art work reflects who we are, and where we have been, said Lorinne Lee, exhibitor.  The artists’ statements will engage viewers with their inspiration and process.

CKSD artists represented are Sonia Barry, Leslie Boyer, David Cassel, Lorinne Lee (retired art educator), Gina Marcchetti, Becky Marshall, Judy Sorrels, and Erik VonSeggern.

NKSD artists represented are Doug Dammarel, James Andrews.
