POULSBO – Another defeat of Port Angeles (3-9-0) on Tuesday, and the North Kitsap boys lacrosse team finishes the season third in the five-team Olympic League of Division II WSHLBA.

Game time is 6 p.m., at North Kitsap High School. It will be North Kitsap’s last game of the regular season. North Kitsap defeated Port Angeles 4-2 on May 3.

In North Kitsap’s last outing, Saturday at Strawberry Park against Liberty, Dalton O’Brien scored five goals to lead Liberty to a 7 – 0  win. North Kitsap is now 4-8.

After holding each other scoreless in the first, Liberty scored the only goal of the half in the second to take a 1 – 0 lead into the intermission. In the third, the Patriots defense again held as Liberty muscled two more goals for a 3 – 0 lead.

With 6:10 remaining in the fourth, North Kitsap senior Kenny Miller was flagged for horse-collaring Patriot freshman Collin Ross with his stick, resulting in a 4-minute non-releasable fighting penalty. Just 1 minute 19 seconds later, Ross returned the favor with the extra man opportunity, beating North Kitsap’s Chazz Zachroff for the Patriots’ fifth goal of the game.

Wyatt Johnson had 10 ground balls and Roland Deex had 6 saves to lead the Liberty defense. Zachroff had 7 saves for North Kitsap.

Klahowya (10-2-0) has clinched the Olympic League title and will advance into the six-league Division II playoffs. Klahowya is followed in the league standings by Gig Harbor (7-5-0), North Kitsap (4-8-0), Port Angeles (3-9-0), and South Kitsap (0-13-0).
