Kitsap Pumas trounce Wenatchee 17-4 in home opener
The Kitsap Pumas indoor soccer team opened the PASL-Pro home season with a 17-4 win against the Wenatchee Fire last week at the Olympic Soccer and Sports Center in Bremerton.
Taylor Hyde, 24, coached the Pumas to victory alongside teammate Steve Cashmore.
Head coach Dustyn Brim and assistant coach John Purtteman were unable to coach due to prior engagements.
Kitsap’s Kyle Johnson led the Pumas with a hat trick.
The Kitsap Pumas will next travel to the Cascade Soccer Center to play the Central Oregon Steelheads on Dec. 4.
The team returns home Dec. 10 to play the California Cougars at home.

Bremerton native places eighth at college wrestling tournament
Former Olympic High School graduate and Central College wrestler Ivan Gaeta finished in eighth place at the Auggie-Brute-adidas Open last week at Augsburg College (Minn.).
Gaeta, a Bremerton native, went 2-2 at the event and won both matches by 4-3 decisions in wrestlebacks. Craig Draper-Johnson of South-west Minnesota State defeated Gaeta 11-0 for the seventh-place prize.
The meet was a non-scored format split into divisions based on experience level.
Gaeta is 5-3 this season, including a co-championship on Nov. 13. Central College will compete again on Nov. 30 against No.2-ranked Wartburg College at Waverly.
