Kingston cross country finishes in top 10 at state

Both the boys and girls Kingston High cross country team finished in seventh place at the 2A State Cross Country Championships on Nov. 6.
Seven runners from both teams competed in the 5,000 meter varsity race.
Of the seven runners on the boys team, Nicholas Schippers placed fourth overall in the competition with a time of 15 minutes, 55 seconds.
Marina Roberts finished in a time of 18:27 and Rose Bishop finished with a time of 19:08. The two placed in the top 10 for the girls overall.
While the girls had a strong race at districts on Oct. 30, the boys team improved over last year’s 14th place finish.
