The North Mason Bulldogs were denied a conference win against the North Kitsap Vikings boys varsity team Dec. 19.

POULSBO — The North Mason Bulldogs were denied a conference win against the North Kitsap Vikings boys varsity team Dec. 19.

North Kitsap’s Calvin Dennis scored 18 points for the Vikings. Cole Rabedeaux scored 15. Ethan Graebner added 11.

The Vikings (2-1, 5-3) led through the majority of the game.

The Vikings led 32-20 at the half. They returned to score 24 points in the third quarter.

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Bulldogs (0-2, 4-4) began to make a comeback. The Bulldogs added 27 points to their score. But an additional 13 points for the Vikings was enough to seal the win.

Dennis had as many rebounds as he did points. He had six offensive and 12 defensive rebounds. He also led the team in steals and blocks.

The win over the Bulldogs followed a narrow loss to the Olympic Trojans on Dec. 17.

The Trojans (3-0, 7-2) won 78-75 at home.

Rabedeaux led the Vikings team with 28 points. David Perry scored 19, followed by Dennis and Graebner, who each had 13.

Though the Vikings kept pace, and even outscored, the Trojans through most of the game, a low-scoring fourth quarter was the Vikings’ demise.

The Trojans scored 21 to the Vikings’ 13 at the end of the game.

The loss was the first for the Vikings since their first game against the Bainbridge Spartans Dec. 1.

The Vikings are now on Winter break. They played Bonney Lake Dec. 20 in a non-conference game. They will play in the Port Townsend Crush in the Slush Tournament Dec. 26-27.
