BREMERTON — It took a two-time state wrestling champion to stop North Kitsap’s Bella Livingston during the 2014 HammerHead Invitational Dec. 19-20.

Livingston won her first two matches in the 130-pound weight class before being pinned by returning state champ Jordyn Bartelson of Puyallup.

Livingston pinned Fife’s Alaina Valenciano in 1:41 in the first round of the tournament.

The North Kitsap wrestler then pinned Sequim’s Aylee Bennet in 3:16 to make it to the semi-finals.

Bartelson pinned Livingston in 2:51 to advance to the finals.

The loss pushed Livingston into the consolation bracket.

Livingston went on to pin Puyallup’s Kheira Bach in the semi-finals in 3:19. She shared third place with Skyview’s Natasha Williams.

Bartelson won by 9-2 decision over Kelso’s Mariah Roggow in the championship match.

Bartelson won back-to-back championships in 2013 and 2014 in the 118-pound weight class during the Mat Classic. She denied Kingston’s Peyton Reece the championship in 2014.
