The Vikings crushed the Trojans in the first set 25-4.

They followed up with a 25-12 second-set win.

During the third set, the Trojans kept pace, but narrowly lost 25-23.

“I was proud of the girls for starting so strong and taking advantage of Olympic’s early mistakes,” head coach Tim French wrote to the Herald.

“I would like to see us maintain a better focus late in matches like this, but overall we played a solid match.”

Along with the varsity team’s success, French noted the JV team was the champion of the Kitsap JV Classic Tournament, and the C-team came out on top at the Sequim tournament the weekend of Oct. 4-5.

The Vikings (5-0, 7-0) were scheduled to play the Kingston Buccaneers (0-6, 0-7) Oct. 9.

Next: The Vikings travel to Port Angeles, 6:15 p.m., Oct. 14.
