FEDERAL WAY — North Kitsap and Kingston swimmers finished as among the state’s top swimmers in the 2A Girls State Swimming & Diving Championships, Nov. 14 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Kingston freshman Claudia Velie finished eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.26; North Kitsap senior Ellie Gallagher finished 13th, 1:14.56. Velie also finished ninth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.19.
North Kitsap senior Serita Solis finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.14.
North Kitsap freshman Isabel Hendryx finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, 1:00.19; NK senior Hannah Uffens finished 10th, 1:04.46. Hendryx also finished ninth in the 100-year freestyle, 55.96.
In team events: North Kitsap’s Izy Iral, Dannica Hennings, and Uffens and Gallagher finished eighth in the 200-yard medley relay, 1:58.65.
Hendryx, Iral, Hennings, and Solis finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 1:43.54.
Results for the 100-yard butterfly were not available Nov. 14. Solis, who finished fifth in the prelims with a time of 1:00.75, was slated to compete.
