South Kitsap surrendered a pair of go-ahead runs in the seventh inning to drop its season opener, 5-3, Monday against Peninsula.
The Wolves, whose game Wednesday against Central Kitsap was rained out and rescheduled for Tuesday, received two-hit performances from Alissa Buss, Kayla Clausen and Shelby Reyes.

South Kitsap baseball continues torrid start
South Kitsap’s Jesse Moore hit a RBI-double in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Nic Stoner to give the Wolves a 3-2 nonleague victory Saturday against Peninsula.
South (4-0) initially was supposed to play on the road, but the Seahawks’ field was deemed unplayable.
The Wolves, who next play Monday at Olympia, outscored their first three opponents 42-6.
