Five high school seniors signed letters-of-intent during the national signing day Feb. 4.

At Central Kitsap High School, Brion Anduze signed to play football with the University of Arizona, while teammate Eric Ledesma signed with Central Washington University.

According to AzDesertSwarm.com, Wildcat coaches are looking at Ansduze, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound three-star athlete, as a tight end.

“Anduze possesses natural hands and uses his hands instead of his body to catch the football,” wrote Ben Leech on the website. “His size also makes him a potential mismatch problem at the next level as the tight end has become all the rage for exploiting potential mismatches on a football field.”

Arizona, who won the South Division of the Pc-12 at 7-2, lost to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl, 38-30. They finished the season 10-4, with a 31-24 win over Oregon in Eugene. Oregon lost to Ohio State in the national championship game, 42-20.

Klahowya seniors McKenzie Cook and Izzy Severns signed on to continue playing soccer. Cook signed with Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, while Severns signed with Central Washington.

Cook and Severns helped the Eagles (21-2) win the Class 1A state girls soccer championship with a 1-0 win over King’s in November.

Cook, a forward, was tabbed as the Washington State Soccer Coaches Associaiton’s  (WSSCA) all-state team and was named MVP.

Severns, a midfielder, was the Olympic’s League MVP in 2014. She scored 34 goals and recorded 21 assists.

Crosspoint’s Desere’e Doty will play soccer at Grand Canyon with Cook. Grand Canyon finished 8-9-1 overall in the West Athletic Conference.

Doty help the Warriors (16-2-1) win their second consecutive 2B girls soccer state title with a 5-1 win over Liberty Bell.

She was named all-state and MVP in 2B/1B by the WSSCA.
