Poulsbo physician wins Poulsbo marathon

Poulsbo physician Gilbert Ondusko represented his hometown with a first-place finish in the Poulsbo Marathon Oct. 12.

POULSBO — Poulsbo physician Gilbert Ondusko represented his hometown with a first-place finish in the Poulsbo Marathon Oct. 12.

Ondusko, 45, was the first person running the full marathon to cross the finish line at North Kitsap Stadium. He finished the 26.2-mile marathon in 2 hours 53 minutes 14 seconds.

The win in Poulsbo was preceded by Ondusko’s first-place finish in the North Olympic Discovery Marathon June 1.

Ondusko finished in front of Matt Krier, 32, of Edmonds and Joel Brose, 22, of Poulsbo. Krier finished in 3:01:20. Brose finished in 3:15:14.

Kingston’s Tenille Schwan, 37, of Kingston was the fastest female marathon runner. Schwan finished in 3:40:26. She bested 2013’s winner Kirsten Casey, 35, of Poulsbo.

Casey finished in 3:54:11, ahead of third-place finisher April Graves of Poulsbo. Graves, 37, finished in 3:58:58.

The winners of the half marathon were Jim Sauage, 39, of Bainbridge and Camille Shiflett, 40, of Silverdale. Sauge finished in 1:19:03. Shiflett finished in 1:23:26.

10K winners were Joshua Chrisman, 30, and Amanda Rodgers, 32, of Bremerton. Chrisman finished in 41:21. Rodgers finished in 42:41.
