North Kitsap girls basketball record spoiled by Port Angeles

The Kingston High School boys basketball team remains undefeated in the Olympic League

POULSBO — The Port Angeles girls basketball team was too much for the lady Vikings on the court Tuesday night.

After a 59-30 loss, the Vikings record changes to 6-1 overall, 5-1 in the Olympic League. The 2011-12 Vikings team kept pace with Port Angeles through the first quarter, falling behind 14-10. Before the half, PA was able to improve its score to 28-16. The Vikings were unable to make anything out of the second half, scoring a total of 14 points.

North Kitsap’s Indigo Williams, who returned to the court in the team’s second game this season after sitting out the fall sports season due to an injury, lead the team with eight points.

Port Angeles’ Kiah Jones scored 23 points, well ahead that of anyone else on the court Tuesday night.

Kingston boys basketball (6-2, 6-0) keeps winning streak alive

The Kingston High School boys basketball team is now the only undefeated basketball team from the North Kitsap School District.

Kingston outscored Klahowya by 10 points Tuesday night, improving its record to 6-2, 6-0.

Up until last Friday, the boys team was accompanied by the girls team in celebrating an undefeated record. However, a 56-45 loss to Bremerton ended the lady Buccaneers record.

Of the boys basketball team, both Sam Byers and KT Deam scored 17 points in the night.
