North Kitsap Baseball
Head coach: Jeff Weible
2018 record: 17-9 (9-3)
Key players: Kyle Green, sr., catcher; Isaac Richardson, sr., shortstop/pitcher; Jared Reister, sr., pitcher/outfield; Max Larsen, sr., second base; Tucker Gowin, jr., catcher/pitcher; Logan Chmielewski, jr., first base/third base/pitcher; Chris Schuchart, jr., third base; Josh Fisher, jr., outfield; Colton Bower, fr., utility.
Outlook: It should be another fine spring for the Vikings. They’re a little banged up to start the year with Green, the reigning Olympic League MVP out with a shoulder injury suffered during the football season, but there is plenty of talent all over the diamond. Richardson and Reister should form the core of a good pitching staff with Gowin and eventually Green providing plenty of middle-of-the-order pop. Schuchart is a candidate for a breakout year and there is plenty of speed in players such as Larsen, Fisher, Reister, Richardson. Bower, a freshman, is cited as having great potential with tremendous overall talent and a high baseball IQ. The Vikings may be the most fun team to watch this year with plenty of victories to boot.
