KINGSTON — All of Drew Clark’s hard work is paying off.

The 5-foot-11-inch senior post signed to the University of Puget Sound women’s basketball team over the weekend of Jan. 10-11.

Clark will play for the Puget Sound Loggers starting in the 2015-16 season. The Loggers play NCAA Division III basketball.

Clark played 22 games during the 2013-14 season, scoring 210 points; the most points by an individual player that season. She averaged 9.5 points per game. Clark had 19 assists.

On defense in 2013-14, Clark had 17 steals, 12 blocks and 206 total rebounds.

“Drew is an amazing young woman,” head coach Gail Wicklein wrote to the Herald.

Clark considered quitting basketball her freshman year, but decided to continue, according to Wicklein. Clark joined select teams in the off seasons to improve her game, Wicklein said.

Next year, Clark joins the Loggers who finished the 2013-14 season 16-10 overall and 9-7 in conference.

This season, the Loggers are 11-1 overall; they are 6-0 at home, 2-1 away and 3-0 neutral.
