All-Star Competitive Cheerleading is back in Kitsap County after a four-year absence. Zero Gravity Athletics, located in Poulsbo, presents Infiniti Cheer Force (ICF), a competitive all-star cheerleading program for teens ages 14 to 18.

All-Star Competitive Cheerleading is back in Kitsap County after a four-year absence. Zero Gravity Athletics, located in Poulsbo, presents Infiniti Cheer Force (ICF), a competitive all-star cheerleading program for teens ages 14 to 18.

Cheerleading and tumbling experience is desired, but not required. Zero Gravity Athletics will host a free open gym and information night from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 18.

Hoop Shoot Contest

The Bremerton Elks 38th Annual Hoop Shoot Contest is at Ridgetop Junior High School. The local finals are tomorrow. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the event begins at 10 a.m.

Schools that didn’t host a shoot-off can compete on their own. Contestants in each of the three age groups — 8 to 9, 10 to 11 and 12 to 13 — must be able to verify their age as of April 1.

The district finals are at Hoquiam High School Jan. 24, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and the event at 11 a.m.

State finals is Feb. 14 in Bellevue and Regional Finals is March 7 in Portland, Ore. Updates will be given to the district winners.

Girls basketball clinic

Total Package Basketball will host a preseason junior high girls basketball clinic for players in grades five through nine. The two-session clinic is 5 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 18 and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 19. Both sessions are at King’s West School. Cost is $65.

The sessions will take players through shooting and ball handling drills to improve their skills. Offensive moves also will be taught along with defensive strategies.
