Bucs, Vikes play in tourney for District berths | Girls soccer

The Kingston Buccaneers and North Kitsap Vikings will meet for the third time this season in a game that will determine who the teams face in Districts

POULSBO — The Kingston Buccaneers and North Kitsap Vikings will meet for the third time this season in a game that will determine who the teams face in Districts.

The Bucs and Vikes play at 6:45 p.m., Nov. 5, at North Kitsap Stadium. The two north end teams are also playing for third and fourth in the Olympic League Tournament.

Both teams are guaranteed an appearance at the District tournament. The winner of the Nov. 5 game plays Fife at noon, Nov. 9 at Franklin Pierce High School. The losing team plays the Lindbergh Eagles at 2 p.m., Nov. 9 at Renton Memorial Stadium.

Lindbergh finished second in the Seamount League (5-1-1 in league, 11-3-1 overall).

Fife finished second in the SPSL (13-1-0, 14-2-0).

The five winners of the District tournament advance to State.

The Klahowya Eagles and Olympic Trojans will play at 6 p.m., Nov. 5, at Silverdale Stadium to determine the winner of the Olympic League Tournament.

The Trojans fought their way from a loser-out situation, to the championship game after defeating Bremerton 2-1, Oct. 31, and then defeating the Vikings 1-0, Nov. 2. It was the Vikings first loss of the season.

The Klahowya Eagles defeated the Bucs 3-0, Nov. 2, for a shot at the championship.
