How the team fared in 2013: The Buccaneers finished 12-4 during the regular season for a third place finish in the Olympic League.

The team went on to earn the No. 3 seed into the District tournament from the league tournament. In Districts, the Bucs won 1-0 over Lindbergh, third place in Districts, and a seed to State.

During the first round of the State tournament, the Bucs lost 5-0 to Archbishop Murphy, which ended their run.

What to look for in 2014: The Bucs graduated a core group of players in 2013, according to head coach Craig Smith. On top of that, one of the top returning players tore an ACL before practice began.

Some of the varsity team is new to soccer; the team was working on fundamentals Sept. 8.

However, the Bucs doe have a few returning players that helped the team achieve in 2013. That includes goalie Emma Keeling, who played throughout the season.

Smith said his personal goal for the team is for everyone to show improvement.
