Bremerton wins last match to secure upset victory over NK

The Bremerton Knights boys tennis team pulled off a major upset Sept. 9, beating the North Kitsap Vikings in a close 4-3 win at home.

The Knights won all three singles matches, while the Vikings won three out of four doubles matches. The competition came down to the last match as the Knights’ doubles team of Mason Pacheco and Uziel Cortez beat Vikings’ Edmond Sargsyan and Dew Kumsorn 7-6, 7-5 to secure the victory.

“This is the first time I’ve beaten them, I think, in the last 16 years,” Bremerton coach Bryan Webb said. “It was a pretty stressful last match there.”
