Stephen King

Stephen “Vernon” King of Kingston died July 13, 2007. He was 83.

King was born to Ward and Ella King in Spokane on Sept. 12, 1923.

He married Martha Harrison on Feb. 12, 1943 and Irene Maki in 2006.

King worked as a Realtor and carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945.

He enjoyed helping people.

King is survived by his wife Irene Maki; daughters Christine (Mike) Griffith, Debbie (Mike) Pakinas, Tammi (Ed) Schrock and Terri Buehler; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

King was preceded in death by his wife Martha.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. July 20 at Bayside Community Church in Kingston. A reception will follow at the Kingston family home.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Veterans of America or North Kitsap Fire & Rescue.
