Richard (Rick) Earl Bailey

Richard (Rick) Earl Bailey, 53

Richard (Rick) Earl Bailey of Port Angeles and formerly of Poulsbo died March 9. He was 53.

Bailey was born on April 19, 1954 to Ethel and Earl Bailey in Medford, Ore.

He attended schools in both Medford and Poulsbo. He was a member of the Carpenters Trust Union, #1144, as well as the Poulsbo Eagles, #3586.

Bailey enjoyed playing darts and pool. He loved spending time with his friends and playing cards at local casinos. His greatest passion and joy was being in the great outdoors fishing local rivers. As a young man, Bailey played Pee Wee and Babe Ruth baseball, loved bowling, and was also awarded the “Ford Punt, Pass and Kick” award.

He is survived by his mother Ethel Menscer of Poulsbo; daughter Katie Wilson and two grandsons of Spokane; sisters Carol Dennis of Aberdeen, Kathy Lewis of Silverdale, and Judi Otto of Orting; nieces Zana Dennis of Seattle, Shanna Lewis of Poulsbo, and Lindsey Otto of Orting; and nephew Ryan Lewis of Bremerton.

He is preceded in death by his father Earl Bailey and step-father Sam Menscer.

Cremation has taken place, and his wishes were to leave his ashes in the places that were special to him. There will be a memorial gathering at the Poulsbo Eagles at 1:00 p.m. March 29.

In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to a local food bank or charity.
