Norman Ernest Dean, 82

Norman Ernest Dean of Kingston died July 18, 2007 in Bremerton. He was 82.

Dean was born in Manchester, England on Jan. 22, 1925.

Dean designed and drafted trains for India Railways, drafted for the Atomic Department of English Electric and troubleshot car designs for the Ford Motor Company. He worked as a journeyman electrician, and helped with projects such as the Microsoft campus in Redmond and the Washington Convention and Trade Center. He also served as a Home Guard while a young man in England.

He enjoyed steam locomotives. When he was 70, he earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Dean is survived by his wife Catherine and his daughters Melissa (Todd) Reynolds of Kingston and Fiona Jones of Eureka, Mont.
