Morna Theresa Louise LePiane Redfern

Morna Theresa Louise LePiane Redfern died Oct. 5 of lung cancer. She was 77.

Redfern was born Nov. 3, 1931, in Missoula, Mont., to Louis Arthur and Auguste (Praast) LePiane. She attended St. Francis Grade School and Sacred Heart Academy, graduating with a high school diploma. She married Wayne on Oct. 14, 1950, and they had three children.

While she was in high school, Morna worked at the Rialto Theater, and while Wayne was in Korea, she worked as a checker at Buttrey Food Store. She had a knack for numbers and kept the books for Wayne’s commercial appliance repair business. In 1978 they moved to Poulsbo and Redfern then worked in son Tom’s dental office.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters: Rose, Patrice, Teresa, Edith, Eva and Bertha; and brothers: Giulio, Richard, James and Frank.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; sons: Thomas (Mary) of Poulsbo and Richard (Karen) of Renton; daughter Theresa (Ricky) of Seattle; brothers: Tony (Sandy) of Satsuma, Ala.; John (Karin) of West Linn, Ore.; sisters: Vivian Rumer of Missoula, MaryLou (Martin) Behner of Missoula and Rita (Scott) Eliason of Des Moines; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A rosary vigil was Oct. 9, and funeral mass was Oct. 10 at 1 p.m., both at St. Olaf’s Parish in Poulsbo. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Missoula.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
