Margaret Elinor Clark

Margaret Elinor Clark, 89, formerly of Port Orchard, died on Aug. 20, 2007. She was born on July 23, 1918 in Seattle to Robert and Margaret (Weimer) Compton. Mrs. Clark was raised in Seabeck and graduated from Port Washington Union High School (CK) in 1936.

She married Charles E. Clark on June 9, 1936, in Seabeck. He preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Clark was a caring wife, mother and homemaker. She attended Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church in Silverdale and Port Orchard Methodist in Port Orchard. She was a member of South Kitsap faculty wives and Orthopedic Guild. Her hobbies included oil painting, crafts, cake baking and decorating, vegetable gardening and flowers, especially dahlias and chrysanthemums. She provided East Port Orchard Elementary School and friends with numerous bouquets and won many ribbons at flower shows.

Survivors include her sons Tom (Sue) of Lakebay, Wash.; Bill (Gloria) of Silverdale; and grandchildren Kim, David (Sarah) and Debbie.

Private graveside services will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Crista Shores. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church, Adult Senior Ministries, 9300 Nels Nelson Road, Bremerton, WA 98311.
