Luella Alice (Pound) Tingelstad passed away peacefully June 26, 2021. She was born June 6, 1930 in Crosby, Minnesota to Ted and Hattie Pound. She married her soul mate and best friend, Leroy Tingelstad on June 15, 1953, who preceded her in death in February 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Tingelstad in January 2015 and a granddaughter, Wanda Tingelstad in October 1991.
Luella lived in Minnesota until moving to Washington in 1962 with her husband and four children. Luella worked for restaurants as a cook and/or waitress in the early years of marriage. She started working for Keyport in 1964. She retired as an Electronics Worker in August 1990. She loved people and was always willing to help those in need. She was active member of her church, Vinland Lutheran, and helped on many of the Women of Vinland projects; quilters and baby layettes to name a few.
Luella was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She doted on her family and was happiest when her brood surrounded her. She loved family get togethers and shared her love with her wonderful cooking and baking.
Luella is survived by a brother, Jim Pound, and a sister, Janet (Gary) Johnson; her three children Diane Tingelstad, Becky (Randy) Thomas, and Keith (Kelly) Tingelstad; six grandchildren Michelle King, Ryan Schechert, Christopher Tingelstad, Constance Kimble, Jeffrey Tingelstad, and Corina Smith; plus six great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please join us in a celebration of her life on Saturday, July 31, 2021at 2 p.m. at Vinland Lutheran Church, 2750 NW Finn Hill Rd., Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local food bank or charity of donor’s choice.
