James Herth

James Herth, 66

Kingston resident James Herth died Dec. 17, 2005 in Bainbridge Island. He was 66.

Herth was born to Stanley and Silina (Harrison) Herth in Seattle.

He graduated from high school and college in the Seattle area before enlisting in the Navy in 1964, where he served as an electronics technician first class and ultra-sound technician before retiring in 1980.

After his retirement he moved to Kingston, where he worked as a bartender and will be remembered for his ability to listen with his heart.

Herth is survived by his partner of 13 years, Phil Alma; his best friend, Carolyn; daughter Tamara Miller and sister Diane Tosenrud.

A reception in his memory will be held from 12-5 p.m. Dec. 29 at his residence.

Memorial gifts may be sent to Kass and Cook Family Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island to assist with the final costs.

Other financial contributions can be made at the reception to help in saving his home in care of Phil Alma.
