Frank W. Hewett

Frank W. Hewett, 84

Former North Kitsap resident Frank W. Hewett died April 4, 2005. He was 84.

Hewett was born Dec 31, 1920.

He grew up in West Seattle and entered the US Army-Air Corps during WWII. He then piloted B-17s. After the war he earned an MS ME degree at the University of Washington.

He retired from the USAF as a Lt. Colonel in 1971. Hewett then worked as a mechanical and manufacturing engineer for the next two decades. His inventing ways continued into his twilight years, filing for his last patent when he was 83.

He is survived by his sons Vance Field, David Hewett and Daniel Hewett; daughter Janice Holland; brothers Warren Hewett and Jim Hewett; sister Marie; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janet.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. April 9 at North Kitsap Baptist Church, 20516 Little Valley Road NE.
