Adene Mindell Vig

Adene Mindell Vig died Nov. 3 in Oakville. She was 92.

She died within one month being diagnosed with bile duct cancer.

Vig was born May 13, 1917, in Seattle to Margaret and Ole Lynum. She graduated in 1935 from North Kitsap High School.

After graduation she worked for the Army at Fort Lewis, and in Utah and California.

In 1944 she married Edward Vig. They raised their family while running the Bayshore Machine Works in Silverdale. She continued to work for the Navy at PSNS, Keyport and Bangor. They divorced in 1965.

Vig worked for the Navy in Bangkok, Thailand and Boston.

After retirement, she split her time between Bremerton and Phoenix,Ariz.

She is survived by her son: Vaughn (Jeanie) Vig of Glendale, Ariz.; and daughters Leona Lindvig of Roslyn and Gloria (David) Edwards of Oakville; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Vig was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, and grandson Jeffery Vig.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Island Lake Community Room, 1087 NW Island Lake Road.
