Fish Park to receive 500 new trees

Western red cedar and Douglas fir trees will be planted by the hundreds this month, and Poulsbo residents are invited to help put the young trees in the ground.

The Poulsbo Tree Board and the City of Poulsbo will be planting the 500 trees Nov. 14, from 1 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Poulsbo’s Fish Park, according to a statement from the city.

Bring a pair of gloves and a shovel, if possible.

The event is meant to build community and educate residents about urban forestry in the city.
