Woman dies from injuries in suspected DUI crash at bus stop | UPDATE

Two people were injured, and one later died, when a car was driven into a bus stop about 11:49 a.m. Sept. 8 outside the state Department of Social and Health Services building on Auto Center Boulevard.

4 p.m. Sept. 8 UPDATE: A 31-year-old Bremerton woman, struck by a car that crashed into a bus stop at Auto Center Boulevard, was transferred to Harborview Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

The driver, from Seabeck but with an Idaho driver’s license, will be booked on vehicular homicide charges.

According to a press release issued by the Bremerton Police Department, “The driver was given field sobriety tests and has admitted to using methamphetamine and marijuana.”

The other victim, a 63-year-old man from Bremerton, was transported to a Tacoma hospital in critical condition.

BREMERTON — Two people were injured when a car was driven into a bus stop about 11:49 a.m. Sept. 8 outside the state Department of Social and Health Services building on Auto Center Boulevard.

Both victims have severe leg injuries but are expected to survive after being transported to area hospitals.

Police are still investigating the crash. The driver appeared to be uninjured and is under investigation for possibly driving under the influence.
