After-effects from snow storm still impacting South Kitsap

SOUTH KITSAP — The southern part of Kitsap County continues to feel the after-effects of the recent snow storm. A fallen tree that took down utility wires has forced the closure of California Avenue E. between E. Center Street and E. Chester Road, according to the county public works department.

Utility crews have responded and are working to secure lines and remove the tree.

Information about weather-related road closures can be found at www.kitsapgov.com/press/inclement_weather.asp.

Just one school in the South Kitsap School District remains closed Feb. 10. Manchester Elementary is not in operation because power has not be restored to the building. The district announced that no morning YMCA will take place at Manchester, as well.
