State Rout 3 car accident injuries claim the life of a Port Orchard man

Chris W. Veazy, a 55-year-old Port Orchard resident, died on Wednesday of injuries he received during a car accident at 9:42 p.m. on Aug. 31 2010.

Samuel L. Adams, a 22-year-old Bellfair resident, who was sitting in the passenger’s seat, suffered minor injuries.

Veazy, was driving a 2007 Suzuki SX4 four-door northbound on State Rout 3 when the vehicle left veered off of the roadway, to the right, and hit a tree, two miles south of Bremerton, near milepost 27.

Veazy was air-lifted to Harborview.

Adams was transported to Harrison with minor injuries.

Mason County Towing towed the car, which was a total loss.

The Washington State Patrol determined that driving under the influence caused the accident, and charged Veazy with a DUI.

Veazy and Adams each wore a seatbelt at the time of the collission.
