Sound Publishing all set to launch free daily paper

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — Sound Publishing, Inc. has announced plans to publish a new free daily newspaper to serve the Kitsap Peninsula. The Free Daily newspaper will run Monday to Friday mornings beginning June 20. Copies will be delivered door-to-door to businesses throughout the county. In addition, the newspaper will be distributed at ferry terminals and more than 200 locations on the Kitsap Peninsula.

The Free Daily newspaper will run Monday to Friday mornings beginning June 20. Copies will be delivered door-to-door to businesses throughout the county. In addition, the newspaper will be distributed at ferry terminals and more than 200 locations on the Kitsap Peninsula.

The daily newspaper will be produced as five zoned editions, bearing the names of the core newspapers Sound publishes in Kitsap County. The company’s Kitsap newspapers include the Bainbridge Island Review, North Kitsap Herald, Central Kitsap Reporter, Bremerton Patriot and Port Orchard Independent. Sound also publishes the Northwest Navigator and Kingston Community News.

The Free Daily will be printed in a commuter-friendly tabloid format, with a colorful front page, shorter articles and numerous photos, designed for people who want a more compact style. It will offer affordable buying options for area advertisers as well.

The Free Daily will bring late breaking news that is regional, national and international in scope, including sports, entertainment and business news. Sound will utilize Reuters News Service, an internationally-acclaimed organization with 197 bureaus in 130 countries.
