‘Soap for Hope’ donations being accepted at local AAA office

AAA Washington kicks off its sixth annual “Soap for Hope” donation drive to collect toiletry items for local shelters, food banks and other charitable organizations.

BREMERTON — A donation of toothpaste, soap or other essential items is a simple gesture that could give someone a fresh outlook on life this holiday season. AAA Washington kicks off its sixth annual “Soap for Hope” donation drive to collect toiletry items for local shelters, food banks and other charitable organizations.

As a result of the generosity of AAA members, local businesses and community partners, AAA has collected and distributed nearly 377,000 toiletry items since the launch of the campaign in 2008. All donated items have been distributed to dozens of charitable organizations throughout Washington and northern Idaho.

“There are individuals and families that really need these items, especially this time of year, and knowing that each donation directly benefits people in our own community really has a meaningful impact,” said Victoria Ramirez, manager of Bremerton AAA office. “We’re overwhelmed by the continued support of Soap for Hope and look forward to another successful year.”

All donations can be dropped off at the Bremerton AAA office, 5700 Kitsap Way. It will benefit  Alive Shelter for Battered Women.

Donations of new, full- and sample-size toiletry items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes will be accepted year-round at all AAA locations.
