The South Kitsap School District has announced four meetings to address the public about the Feb. 9 bond to fund construction of a second high school and upgrade technology and safety in South Kitsap High School.
The first meeting will take place 6 p.m., Dec. 9 at Sunnyslope Elementary.
Then, in January, three more meetings will be held to address the topic before the Feb. 9 vote.
The $124.99 million school bond issue to build a second high school in the South Kitsap School District was unanimously approved by the district’s board of directors at its board meeting on Oct. 21.
Attendance at these meetings are open to the public, and anyone with concerns or opinions are encouraged to attend.
“I am looking forward to welcoming the community into further conversation about our upcoming Feb. 9, 2016 bond election,” SKSD Superintendent Michelle Reid said. “These Community Event nights will be a great opportunity to have questions answered and facts clarified.”
The schedule for the meetings is as follows:
- Dec. 9, 6 p.m., at Sunnyslope Elementary
- Jan. 5, 6 p.m., at Orchard Heights Elementary
- Jan. 9, 11 a.m., at SKSD Administration Office
- Jan. 12, 6 p.m., at John Sedgwick Junior High
