SK High student honored with Eagle Scout Award

A senior at South Kitsap High School has worked his way to the top ranking in the Boy Scouts of America program.

Christopher Crane of Boy Scout Troop 1529 was honored as an Eagle Scout at a ceremony Aug. 25 at Adventure of Faith Church in Port Orchard.

The ceremony capped off a long string of achievements that started in Southern California. Crane earned 21 merit badges, served as a troop leader and refurbished the pathway at Adventure of Faith, which served as his major community service project.

The project not only was a service to the community but also afforded Crane the opportunity to coordinate and lead efforts of a team comprised of fellow scouts, independent contractors, parents and classmates, a news release says.

Crane has also been a Senior Patrol Leader and Troop Guide, a member of the BSA Order of the Arrow and a summer staff member for BSA Camps Pigot and Edward among others.
