Security training scheduled at NBK-Bangor for March 24th

Navy security training to be held at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor March 24th.

Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific Security will conduct a training exercise Sunday, March 24th on Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor’s lower base from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Local residents and base personnel working on NBK-Bangor should expect loud noises and increased activity by emergency responders in support of the training including the use of blank ammunition, simulated explosive devices and smoke. Non-participants are advised to stay away from the exercise area during the training period as traffic may be limited and emergency response vehicles will be active.

Drivers on NBK-Bangor lower base should prepare for potential roadblocks or traffic diversions. Training maneuvers should not affect normal operations. According to NBK, the Navy routinely conducts these types of security exercise to ensure readiness and to verify response procedures.
