A Seattle man concerned about “being invaded” tried to take a foot ferry in Bremerton using an onboard fire axe as a weapon.
The 46-year-old man was in Kitsap County Superior Court April 24. Bail was set at $117,500 for first-degree burglary. If convicted maximum sentence is life in prison and/or $50,000 in fines.
Bremerton police were called twice to the ferry terminal April 23. The first caller said, “Please call the U.S. Army. We are being invaded,” and there “was a revolution in Kitsap.” The second caller was a Kitsap Transit deckhand.
The deckhand said the suspect scaled the side of the boat to the top deck and broke a window to gain access to the pilot house. He started a lot of systems, including the generator. The suspect also untied bow mooring lines and one on the stern, too.
The suspect gained access to a control panel outside the pilot house in an attempt to drive the ferry away from the pier. The suspect had grabbed a fire axe from the ferry, but deckhands were able to talk him into putting it down. They also distracted him until officers arrived, and they could secure the ferry back to the pier.
“The suspect was so manic it was difficult to communicate with him and obtain accurate information,” the report concludes.
Drug arrest
A 33-year-old Port Orchard man was charged in Superior Court April 27 with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a firearm.
If convicted he faces a total of 15 years in prison and $35,000 in fines. Bail was set at $225,000.
Probable cause papers show police started investigating him in January. He was selling large amounts of narcotics, including fentanyl.
After obtaining a search warrant, law enforcement found 13 vials of methadone, methamphetamine, 12 firearms (two stolen), 5.28 pounds of fentanyl pills (almost 24,000), 5.94 pounds of fentanyl powder, almost $51,000 and more.
A 33-year-old Port Orchard woman was charged in the same case. Because she possessed a stolen firearm her fine could reach $45,000.

On April 26 at 5:42 p.m., a victim flagged down Bremerton police and said he was assaulted and robbed by two men who live at a homeless camp. He said they forced him into the back seat of a vehicle and was beaten. The victim apparently owed one of the men $20 for some “blues” in a drug deal. They took his cell phone and backpack. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The car was given back to the friend that day, however. The suspect was found by police that night sleeping in a vehicle.
