Port Orchard Police to host National Night Out Aug. 4

The Port Orchard Police Department will join other law-enforcement agencies in be hosting a local National Night Out, a community building campaign to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make for safer communities.

PORT ORCHARD — The Port Orchard Police Department will join other law-enforcement agencies in be hosting a local National Night Out, a community building campaign to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make for safer communities.

The police department will host the event in downtown Port Orchard at the Water Park Boat Launch, located in front of Port Orchard City Hall. The event will be from 5:30–8:30pm.

Booths and equipment will be on display from the South Kitsap Fire and Rescue, U.S. Navy, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, National Guard, Port Orchard Police, Kitsap CENCOM, Kitsap Search and Rescue, Port Orchard Soroptimists, USCG Auxiliary and many others.

Additional public parking will be provided by Kitsap Bank.The Backwoods Windjammers, a local musical group out of Belfair, will provide entertainment along with D.J. Services provided by local D.J Joe Donais. Bremerton Bottling Co. and Kitsap Bank has provided complementary food and drinks. Lowe’s Home Improvement has provided giveaway items, according to police chief Geoffrey Marti.

In addition, several patrol boats will be available for viewing on the Boat Launch Pier.
