Port of Poulsbo appoints longtime resident as new manager

The Port of Poulsbo recently announced the appointment of James Weaver as its new port manager, starting in September.

Weaver, a longtime Poulsbo resident, brings more than two decades of leadership in public port and city management. Most recently, he served as the marine facilities director for the Port of Bremerton, where he spearheaded waterfront initiatives across multiple communities, a news release says.

Under his leadership, the Port of Bremerton secured over $15 million in capital project funding and restructured its harbor division into a self-sustaining, profitable operation. His projects in Bremerton and Port Orchard enhanced public access to Puget Sound and revitalized key waterfront areas, per the release.

“I am thrilled to bring my skills and experience to benefit the Port of Poulsbo, and to contribute to the Poulsbo community, where I have called home for more than 20 years,” Weaver said.

Weaver and his wife, Melody, reside along Liberty Bay.
