No injuries in fire at Liberty Ridge Apartments

POULSBO — No one was injured in a fire that broke out the morning of Sept. 26 in a basement unit of the Liberty Ridge Apartments, on Bond Road near Highway 305.

Poulsbo Fire Department firefighters responded to the complex on a call about a structure fire and found smoky, hazy conditions on site as they entered the area.

However, the fire was out by the time firefighters reached the apartment, Battalion Chief Jeff Russell said. Because no one was in the unit, Russell speculated the fire simply smoldered itself out.

The cause of the fire was not known. As of 12:30 p.m. Sept. 26, the Kitsap County Fire Marshal was en route to make such a determination.

Liberty Ridge was built in 1994 and has three stories with 105 units, according to its website.
