More sewage overflow spills – these two in King County – are causing concerns on shorelines from Bainbridge Island to Kingston.

The Kitsap County Health District has issued another no-contact advisory, this one for North Kitsap shorelines.

Other recent similar spills led to similar advisories – once on the south shore of BI and twice in Eagle Harbor and its surrounding area.

The King County overflow advisory from the Discovery Park area of Seattle and also near Shoreline is in effect until Jan. 19. A shellfish harvesting closure is in effect through Feb. 2. It includes the eastern shoreline of BI from Wing Point to Agate Point. It also extends from Agate Pass Bridge to Apple Cove Point to Kingston.

Signs will be posted at public access points in the affected area. The public is advised in those areas to avoid contact with the water – on skin or in the mouth, nose or eyes.
