Italian class for beginners

Beginning Italian class, a nine-week course, is April 14-June 16, 5:30-7 p.m., held at Fairview Junior High School. Cost is $75 plus the textbook available in class for $21. Register in class on April 14. Taught by native Italian Imma Keith. For more information, call (360) 692-0922.

Central Valley Garden Club is offering two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to students of the Central Kitsap or North Kitsap School District who are furthering their education in horticulture, environment, conservation, forestry, agriculture or other related fields. Interested seniors should check with their school counselors for information and applications. To be eligible for consideration for the current year, high school counselors must receive all applications by April 15.

Committee studying school closure

The Central Kitsap School District’s secondary reconfiguration and school closure study committee will host public meetings every Tuesday this month.

The next meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. April 15 at the district’s maintenance training room, located at 9102 Dickey Road in Silverdale, next to Silverdale Elementary School.
