Mr. and Mrs. Hank Mann-Sykes, 25 years

Hank and Loisanne Mann-Sykes of Silverdale celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary April 10 at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle where Hank was hospitalized. They had planned a trip to New York City and Europe.

Hank and Loisanne Mann-Sykes of Silverdale celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary April 10 at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle where Hank was hospitalized. They had planned a trip to New York City and Europe.

They were married on April 10, 1983 in Burien at John Knox Presbyterian Church and made their first home in Tukwila.

The couple met at SeaTac Airport on July 28, 1978 where they were both waiting for passengers arriving on the same plane. At that time, Loisanne was a teacher in the Bellevue School District and Hank was an executive in the radio business at KJR, Seattle, Channel 95.

The former Loisanne Willard was born in Visalia, Calif. She graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane. She has taught high school and junior high for the past 33 years. Since 1992, she has taught at Ridgetop Junior High School in Silverdale.

Hank, a certified marketing consultant, was born in Jackson, Miss. and raised in numerous locations throughout the United States before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1957. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing as well as graduate studies for a master’s degree in marketing.

He is currently the president of United Way of Kitsap County.

The couple, who live in Silverdale, have one son, Joshua S. Sykes, born in Kirkland. He is in the Navy Apprentice Program at Naval Base Kitsap.
