Kitsap Transit holds community meetings across county

KITSAP COUNTY – Kitsap Transit Executive Director John Clauson will be hosting meetings across Kitsap County the next two Saturdays on March 24 and March 31.

The community meeting in Kingston will at 3 p.m. on March 24 in the Village Green Community Center. Clauson will share information on Kitsap Transit’s comprehensive review of routed service, as well as answer questions from the audience. It does not appear, however, that the executive director will be answering questions pertaining to the arrival of fast ferry service to Kingston.

Kitsap Transit spokesman Sanjay Bhatt said the meetings would primarily focus on Kitsap Transit’s operations on land via buses, shuttles and vans. A later meeting, Bhatt said, would address community concerns and questions on upcoming fast ferry service in Kingston.

Other community meetings are set for 9 a.m. on March 24 in Bremerton on the second floor of the Harborside Building, at 60 Washington Ave.; and at 11:30 a.m. on Bainbridge Island in the conference room of the Bainbridge Library, at 1270 Madison Avenue N.

On March 31, meetings will be in Poulsbo at 9 a.m. in community room of the Poulsbo Library, at 700 Northeast Lincoln Road; in Silverdale at 11:30 a.m. in the Olympic North Room of the Oxford Suites, at 9550 Silverdale Way NW; and in Port Orchard at 3 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, at 216 Prospect St.
