Sound Publishing Inc. will suspend publication of the Kitsap Free Daily effective Nov. 1 after almost four years of operation.

Sound Publishing Inc. will suspend publication of the Kitsap Free Daily effective Nov. 1 after almost four years of operation.

“We are temporarily suspending publication of the Free Daily to focus on our core products in Kitsap County,” says Lori Maxim, Vice President of West Sound Newspaper Operations. “The Daily is a fantastic product but we have decided to shift our focus to continued development of our online products and the community newspapers serving the Kitsap region.”

Sound Publishing produces the following newspapers in Kitsap county: the Bainbridge Island Review, North Kitsap Herald, Kingston Community News, Central Kitsap Reporter, Bremerton Patriot, Port Orchard Independent, Kitsap Northwest Navigator and What’s Up.

Sound Publishing Inc. is the largest publisher of community and suburban newspapers in Washington and is also one of the area’s largest commercial web printers. The company operates 30 community and suburban newspapers, two monthly business journals, and 18 Little Nickel and Nickel Ads weekly shoppers throughout Washington and Oregon. Sound also operates web printing facilities in Everett and Bainbridge Island and publishes two editions of the Northwest Navigator for the U.S. Navy.
