Kitsap County Superior Court cases

Man charged with stalking

A 37-year-old man with two previous stalking convictions was arrested for that same crime and charged in Kitsap County Superior Court Aug. 18.

Bail was $150,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court records show the Bremerton man was arrested by local police at 8 p.m. June 16 in the 300 block of N. Callow Avenue.

On Aug. 14 a woman complained of ongoing harassment, stalking and disturbing behavior by a man. She said incidents escalated from Aug. 7 to 14. The woman, who is 20 weeks pregnant, said he left a vintage baby high chair at her business. Two days later, he tossed two apples across the street to her, yelling for her to make him an apple pie.

Three days later, he tossed a sign into her shop when her husband and children were there. Two days later, there was a rolled-up rug and men’s clothing at the front door. A note at the door said he had crushes on actresses Liv Tyler and Drew Barrymore, so he could not be with the victim.

The victim then put up cameras in her business. Later that day video shows the suspect throwing something at the business. He returned four minutes later with two slippers and an empty alcohol bottle. There were two unopened condom packages in the bottle. About an hour later, he returned and threw food at the door and shoved a shirt through the mail slot.

She closed her business early Aug. 15, and video shows an hour later the suspect kissed the door twice and waved before leaving. He was arrested nearby soon after.

The victim said he had only said hi to her in the past. But now she was sick of anxiety and couldn’t sleep for four days. His two previous convictions in 2023 for stalking were not with this same victim.

Beaten woman who stabbed husband arrested

A 39-year-old woman from Bremerton was in Superior Court Aug. 20 charged with assault with a deadly weapon for stabbing her husband, whom she said had been beating her for five years.

She faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court papers say Bremerton police arrested the woman Aug. 19 at 8:43 p.m. on Hidden Creek Court.

A friend of the victim reported he had been stabbed by his wife and was going to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. The suspect said she had been beaten by the man often since 2020. She showed officers multiple bruises on her face, chest, arms and legs. She said he had threatened to “put her in the ground” and bury her in the yard. Her sister came over to take the three children.

The knife used in the stabbing was in the dishwasher. She said she couldn’t report the beatings because she lives in Section 8 housing, and if police came again, she would be kicked out. She smelled of alcohol and blew a .412 in the preliminary breath test.

Baseball bat, BB gun chase off burglar

A 42-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Aug. 18 facing three charges after being chased away from the scene of the crime by a BB gun and baseball bat.

The maximum penalty if convicted for burglary is 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. For exhibiting a weapon, it’s a year in jail and a $5,000 fine, and it’s the same for malicious mischief. Bail was $71,000.

Court documents say Kitsap deputies responded Aug. 17 at 8:56 a.m. to the 2500 block of Highway 3 in Bremerton. The victim reported a man smashed a window in his motorhome. There was a hit-and-run warrant for the suspect’s arrest.

The victim said the suspect had taken a backpack full of items previously, but that was not reported.

On that day, the suspect was banging on the motorhome with a 2-3 foot long metal piece of rebar. The victim pointed a BB gun at the man and fired a shot, hitting his nose. A woman in the motorhome chased the suspect away with a bat. The suspect entered the property by cutting bungee cords at the gate.

A 57-year-old Port Orchard man was in Superior Court Aug. 21 charged with possession of depictions of a minor.

He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Bail was $250,000.

Court information says Kitsap deputies arrested the man Aug. 20 at 7:36 a.m. in the 6900 block of E. Polk Avenue in Port Orchard. Probable cause information from a cybertip says the suspect received depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct via email.

A detective focused on nine photos from March 20. Three photos show a naked girl aged 8-10. Other photos show girls as young as 4. The man was arrested after a search warrant was obtained. He told his wife the child porn was on his laptop.

She faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
