Kingston fast ferry sailings canceled for the rest of Friday and all of Saturday

Backup vessel Melissa Ann has been taken out of service for emergency repairs

Kitsap Transit said it is canceling Kingston fast ferry sailings for the rest of Friday, Sept. 20, and all sailings on Saturday, Sept. 21.

According to Kitsap Transit officials, the vessel Melissa Ann has been taken out of service for emergency repairs. The vessel was operating as the backup boat for the Finest, which has been out of service since early August for repairs.

“Repairs to Finest are taking longer than expected,” the agency said. “Finest is now scheduled to return to service during the week of Sept. 30.

Kitsap Transit said it will issue and update over the weekend on the status of Kingston fast ferry service for Monday, Sept. 23.
