Poulsbo man faces charges for alleged rape of a child

A Poulsbo man is facing charges of first-degree rape of a child, incest and sexual exploitation.

Documents from the Poulsbo Police Department allege that Clayton Carlson of Poulsbo admitted to rape and exploitation of a relative.

The victim and her mother reportedly contacted Poulsbo police and were interviewed by an officer with the Sexual Assault Unit.

In documents, the victim states that the assaults began when she was as young as 5 and had only ceased in the last year and a half.

The victim states that on a number of occasions she noticed Carlson was recording and streaming the assaults on an app on his phone and that afterward, he would buy her gifts, such as clothes, phones, gaming devices or other things she wanted.

The victim’s mother told officers that she had been unaware of the assaults until the victim came forward.

On March 5, Carlson was interviewed by Poulsbo police, allegedly confessed and is in custody facing a $500,000 fine.
