The Kingston Farmers Market is in full swing! Baked goods and plentiful produce … eggs, pork, chicken and cheese … broccoli, greens, carrots, berries, peaches. We think our vivacious vendors are the best!

In July:
— Annual 4th of July Special Market, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with three different music sets to keep things lively.
— Mid-Season Celebration July 20 with more raffle baskets to benefit Kingston’s Food Banks.
— July 27-28, we’ll be sharing the Marina Park with the North Kitsap Arts & Crafts Festival.

Under the Friends of the Library Canopy, it’s been wonderful seeing little kids (and some parents!) listening in rapt attention during the Kingston Friends of the Library’s popular story time from 11 a.m. to noon.

EBT/SNAP (popularly called the Food Stamp and Senior Nutrition Programs) is finally on its way! We are especially pleased about this.

Music at the Market features familiar fun favorites, a few future favorites, and some split sets to keep things finger-snapping and feelin’ good! For a jolly July:

— July 4: Rachel Neil, acoustic favorites, 10-11:30 a.m.; Kel Schmitz, North Dakota Lonesome, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Chris Neil, acoustic rock and blues, 1-3 p.m.
— July 6: The Double Barrs, early jazz and swing.
— July 13: Blair & Kymythy, all your favorites.
— July 20: Tugboat Bromberg, nautical/pirate chanties, 10 a.m. to noon; Alynn Guthrie, acoustic R&B, noon to 2 p.m.
— July 27: The Julie Duke Band, blues/soul/rock/R&B.

Keeping the ‘Kingston’ in the Kingston Farmers Market2013 Kids Postcards are in stock and flying off the rack!

“Simple Guidelines for Using the Market Community Booth” is now on the website. We want more of Kingston’s 25-plus community groups and organizations to take advantage of the market as a neighborhood meeting spot and day in the sun.

Don’t forget the doodle-dotted community comments box at the Market Information Booth for your ideas, comments, questions, concerns. Drop us a line on Market Days!

For more information, visit the market’s website at www.KingstonFarmersMarket.org, or call Clint Dudley, market manager, at 297-7683. See you at the market!
