POULSBO — The Poulsbo Police Department has determined that inattentive driving was the cause of a four-car pile-up on May 12.

The collision occurred at Viking Avenue and Highway 305 at 10:17 a.m. Three vehicles — a Toyota 4-Runner, a Toyota Tacoma truck, and a Honda CRV — were stopped at the intersection’s light.

A fourth car, a Saturn, approached from behind and crashed into the CRV, which lurched under the rear end of the truck, which in turn knocked into the 4-Runner.

The Saturn was forced into a spin as it skidded into the neighboring lane. It came to rest in front of the three other vehicles, facing into traffic.

The driver of the Saturn was cited with inattentive driving.

Two passengers from the other vehicles were sent to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for undisclosed, minor injuries, but were soon released.
